Zoo park
Between flora and fauna: Punta Verde Zoo Park
A zoological paradise just 2 km from the Meridianus Hotel
Founded in 1979, Punta Verde Zoo Park aims to educate and raise public awareness of the need to respect the animal world and the natural environment.
Fauna
The park covers 100,000 sqm between the two banks of the Tagliamento River and is home to around 1,000 animals belonging to hundreds of species of mammals, birds and reptiles. The park supports projects for the protection of endangered species and the conservation of biodiversity through the presence of natural habitats typical of the species it hosts.
Flora
Native plants are accompanied by other tropical species that live in ponds fed by 30°C thermal wells. This creates microclimates that favour the well-being of even the most exotic animals.
